General Radiator Sizing Guidance - room m3 (Length x Width x Height in metres) x 0.045 = radiator kW

Example Room - 4.3 metres long x 4.2 metres wide x 2.4 metres high will require a 2.0 kW radiator. Also take into account number of exterior walls, poor insulation / glazing and room aspect (North facing ?) which may require a higher heating output.

Independent Water Filled Electric Radiator Units - How Do They Work ?

Independent Water Filled Electric Radiator UnitsIndependent Water Filled Electric Radiator UnitsIndependent Water Filled Electric Radiator Units

The electric heater warms the water inside the unit, and the integral mini pump circulates the heated water around the double panelled radiator. The built in air thermostat intelligently senses the temperature and the unit responds accordingly.
As soon as the desired temperature is reached, the electric radiator stops drawing power.  The radiator however remains constantly warm, and will only use the energy required to maintain your set room temperature.

Whether you require whole house or flat heating, replacements for obsolete night storage heaters, need an extension, office or conservatory radiator, or just want to warm that awkward cold spot, Independent Water Filled Radiator Units provide an ideal heating solution.

Independent Water Filled Radiators are electrically driven using either standard mains sockets or a dedicated spur supply for larger installations. There’s no gas /oil fired boiler to maintain and certify annually. The design is energy efficient, comfortable and economical in use. Provides constant and smoothly released heating, with a typical 3 minutes 'on' and 5 minutes 'off ' power usage cycle to maintain set room temperature. During their operation the power supply is interupted many times an hour - even when continuously heating. The distribution of heat into your room is not affected by this due to the advanced 'smooth heat release' radiator design.

How to Heat Properly

When a room has cooled out over a few days any form of heating will take several hours to reach a comfortable temperature.

Heat the rooms you spend most of your time in continuously.

With the wireless digital clock thermostat control option you can choose a 'comfort' heating setting of around 20 - 21 degrees C for the exact period your rooms are occupied, and also a 'set back' lower ECO temperature of around 15 degrees C for the period your rooms are unoccupied, or at night time.

This way your heating uses only a small amount of energy overnight - and your living space does not cool down completely. Early in the morning, and in the evenings when returning home, have your controller set to return to 'comfort' and your rooms will be warm again very quickly.

Independent Water Filled Radiators are constructed for 'non stop' operation. During their operation the power supply is interupted many times an hour - even when continuously heating. The distribution of heat into your room is not affected by this due to the advanced 'smooth heat release' radiator design.

Storage Heater Replacements

Independent Water Filled Radiator Units are more efficient and economical to run than storage heaters, and are direct acting, so heat is produced quickly and efficiently on demand. The radiators are totally controllable via the timer and thermostat.

Storage heaters however, suffer from heat loss dissipation throughout the day, after the early morning charge, so their remaining heat often needs to be supplemented later in the day by direct electrical heaters on peak time electricity, increasing the total daily cost. e.g. night time full heat charge cost + additional next day peak top up - (National Energy Foundation). In mild weather conditions, any storage heater overcharge also results in energy wasteage.

Suitable for use with the Economy 10 tariff.      Economy 10 Tariff Information

Benefits of using Independent Water Filled Radiator Units

With fossil fuels supplies unreliable - and prices continually rising - electric heating is becoming an increasingly attractive option, and growing in popularity amongst home owners, landlords, builders, renovators, developers and specifiers.

The majority of people do however prefer the conventional central heating radiator, as it is the most accepted method to warm a room.

Independent Water Filled Radiator Units
work on exactly the same principle - yet require no plumbing, pipe work, boiler or connection to a water supply. They therefore provide all the benefits of solid fuel, oil or gas central heating without any problematic installation, annual servicing of boilers, pumps or flues, and continual ongoing maintainance costs.

Quick and Easy to Install

Independent Water Filled Radiator Units
are very easy and quick to install, ensuring minimal disruption and lower costs. The radiator mounts onto unobtrusive wall fixings and is simply plugged into an electrical socket.

Running Costs

Research has shown that in a modern, well insulated home, electric heating can often be cheaper to run than gas or other fuels for a number of reasons:

Exceptional efficiency levels

In a traditional fossil fuel system, as much as 30% of the heat produced is vented to atmosphere through the flue. As the radiator units are independent all power consumed is converted into usable heat.

Maintenance free

With virtually no moving parts, Independent Water Filled Radiator Units
are reliable, maintenance free and unlike other systems, do not require annual safety checks. This is an obvious large saving when considering the total running costs of any heating system.

Comfortable and Controllable

Electric heating provides unmatched levels of comfort, 24 hours a day. With Independent Water Filled Radiator Units
individual room temperatures can be adjusted to suit occupancy ensuring a relaxing living environment.

Reliable and Safe

Since Independent Water Filled Radiator Units
do not produce carbon monoxide or any other harmful gases, there is no risk of explosion or danger from poisonous fumes. Radiators are maintenance free which ensures complete peace of mind for all of our customers. Ideal for both owner occupied and tenanted properties, with a choice of either digital RFC, or simpler ITC manual controls.

Supplied with 1.5 metres of cable and a standard fitted plug. Larger multiple radiator installations can be spur wired. Cable feed is from the right hand side when the radiators are mounted on the wall.
